As we are all aware, the current market is the result of the final-year funding from the 2005 SAFETEA-LU legislation supplemented by the ARRA stimulus package. There are a number of conversations and strategies taking place currently in Congress regarding the scope and funding of the next transportation bill which will fund projects beginning next year.
The next few months will be critical to the eventual outcome of this legislation and we will endeavor to keep you informed. Below I have included links to two important documents in this letter. The first is a summary of the current discussions and our best guess as to how it will play out. The second is informational containing a report of the stimulus spending by state through May prepared by ARTBA.
After reviewing these documents, please read carefully the closing "Recommended Steps."
